CLEAR LAKE AUTO SOCIAL SOCIETY
Clear Lake, Iowa
Bob Christiansen was one of the founding members of C.L.A.S.S. He and his wife Pamela joined the club in 1983. A native of Clear Lake, Bob graduated from Clear Lake High School with the Class of 1962. Following graduation, Bob farmed until entering the U.S. Army, returning to farming once again upon the passing of his father. In 1971 Bob attendeded the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and subsequently served with the Clear Lake Police Department until he accepted employment with Cerro Gordo County as a roadworker in August of 1974. After 28 years with the County, Bob retired in 2002.
Bob met Pamela Lemke in 1965; they were married February 25, 1967 and enjoyed almost 42 years together before Pam's passing in 2009. Both Bob & Pam shared an enthusiasm for classic cars and were very active in C.L.A.S.S. (Clear Lake Auto Social Society). Over the years, Bob served as Vice-President as well as President, and Pam served as Secretary/Treasurer for many years. Bob remains an active member today.
Their "dream car" was a 1955 T-Bird. After 8-9 years of unsuccessful search, they located a Baby Blue 1957 "Bird" in Arizona and purchased the car, spending 13 months on its restoration in 1976-77. Also in Bob's garage one will find a 1976 Plymouth Sport Fury, and a 1965 Ford Fairlane 500.
Six years ago Bob & Pam became winter snowbirds; Bob continues to spend the winter months in Arizona.
